with mel watt it is a policy question. those who do not like a possible aggressive housing administration they will push republicans to block fat and that is what is going on. >> how are you getting anything done? >> they will cut a deal, that is what they did last summer we had a similar showdown over appointments and in that case i think i would rather be the judicial candidate that mel watt. i think when it came to the housing appointment for mel watt that is a fundamental policy difference. you have conservative groups say they will -- they are for it. cited -- decided to stand firm. on the judicial appointment, the kind of cases that court gets, it is 3-3 and they have retired judges comment.

the republicans are concerned if obama gets an appointment that will tilt the court and that court also is a spear to the u.s. supreme court. chief justice roberts was on that court so that is another reason that judicial appointee to that court, they are very sensitive. >> are we getting closer to the day will -- where they will blow up the filibuster in change the rules? >> it it would -- it would only be on administrative. one thing straight about mel watt. this would be the first time in 160 years that a member of congress had been denied confirmation by theene. outrageous. at the same time that fannie mae is taking on the nine biggest banks for having interest rates
